Travel and coverage across Perth
Pawssum covers the northern suburbs from Joondalup, through Clarkson, Hocking to Warwick; the southern suburbs from Spearwood to Warnbro; the inner suburbs of Bayswater and Churchlands and the Perth Hills to Kalamunda. There is no travel charge within our standard Perth coverage. The $399 quoted over the phone is the $399 that appears on your invoice.
Outside this area there is a travel charge quoted prior to booking and never added on. Throughout the rest of Perth the travel charges are as follows: perth has the most clearly published travel charges in the country. several operators cover the first 15 to 30 kilometres and then charge in bands. For example $30 for the first 30km, increasing to $225 at 80km. One operator charges $10 per 5km in excess of 10km. Some operators charge travel by the kilometre while others charge by zones. When you call around request what method of charge you are being offered.
Pet cremation in Perth
Cremation is booked separately from the euthanasia and is usually the largest part of the total. In Perth, general cremation with no ashes returned runs $160 to $280, and one Perth provider charges the same $160 at every weight from under 1kg to over 60kg. Private cremation with the ashes returned runs $300 to $399 for a dog under about 10kg and $480 to $600 for a dog over 40kg.
With Pawssum, general cremation starts at $279 and private cremation at $459 whatever your dog weighs. We work with Evermore crematorium.

|
Collection and transport |
Perth publishes the clearest transport pricing in the country. Fees run about $40 close to the crematorium, $80 for up to 20km, $120 for 21 to 40km and $160 for 41 to 60km, with after-hours loadings of $100 to $255 |
Perth prices by species as well as weight. Two providers charge a single flat fee for cats at any weight, and run separate ladders for dogs, cats and pocket pets.
If you would rather arrange cremation yourself, Lawnswood, Blue Leaf Water Cremation at Yangebup and Ripple Pet Aquamation all serve Perth.
What changes the price in Perth
- Distance from the city. Outer Perth and the fringe usually attract a travel component from practices that charge by the kilometre.
- After hours. Evenings, weekends and public holidays carry a loading at most practices. Pawssum does not apply one.
- Which crematorium. Perth crematoria rates differ widely, from $160 to $600 across the providers who publish their prices, so the same dog can cost noticeably more or less depending on where the booking goes.
- Who handles transport. Some providers include collection in the cremation price and some invoice it separately.
Low-cost dog euthanasia in Perth
If cost is what is stopping you, RSPCA WA at Malaga and SAFE are the places to ring in Western Australia. Several offer reduced fees for owners holding a pension or healthcare card, and eligibility is assessed case by case rather than published as a price list.
Published concession rates are rare. Animal Happiness at Manning publishes a 20 per cent pensioner discount on sterilisation and euthanasia, the only euthanasia-specific concession rate found anywhere in the country.
Questions Perth families ask
Can I bury my dog at home in Perth?
Perth is the one Australian city where councils actually legislate this, and the answer differs sharply between them. The City of Perth and the City of Stirling both require a deceased animal to be taken to an approved disposal site rather than buried on the property. Joondalup and Wanneroo permit occasional burial only on rural or special rural land, and only if the animal is covered with lime first. WA Health advises a hole at least one metre deep, kept as far as possible from water and drains.
How quickly can a vet come out in Perth?
Pawssum can usually attend the same day across Perth, seven days a week between 6:00am and 11:00pm. If your dog is distressed now, call rather than booking online.
Why can I not find a Perth vet clinic's euthanasia price online?
Because almost none of them publish it. When you ring, ask four things: the euthanasia fee, whether a consultation is charged on top, whether sedation is included, and what cremation would add.
At-home euthanasia in Perth with Pawssum starts at $399 and includes sedation, so your dog is asleep and comfortable before anything else happens. We can usually attend the same day, and the price does not change in the evening or at the weekend.
If you are not certain it is time, say so when you call, or work through our quality of life assessment first. Our team would rather talk it through with you than book an appointment you are not ready for.

At home in Perth, $315 to $499 on a weekday and $99 to $200 on top of the weekday fee after hours, before cremation. Is there a travel fee for a home visit in Perth?
Not inside our standard Perth service area, where the $399 quoted is the $399 invoiced. Outside it, any travel component is quoted before you book. Across the rest of the Perth market, perth has the clearest published travel pricing in the country. Several providers include the first 15 to 30 kilometres then charge in bands, commonly $30 at 30km rising to $225 at 80km, and one charges $10 per 5km beyond 10km.
Can I bury my dog at home in Perth?
Perth and Stirling effectively prohibit it, while Joondalup and Wanneroo allow it only on rural land, so check your own council's local law. Home burial removes the cremation cost from the total entirely, which is why it is worth checking before you book.
